Where is home if not the first place you run away from?

This is the house that built me and it's my time to burn it down

Medium: Solvent transfer on fabric, photography
Format: Textile installation
Key words: lost memories, imaginative experiences, fleeing home
I focus on the concepts of the necessity of adaptation and resistance to adaptation. Within the theme of Archipelagos, I explore and research on how we can learn to read planetary changes and shifts in landscapes and how the process of change from a familiar to an unfamiliar landscape affects oneself. One general topic of this piece is the necessity of fleeing home at different costs, as well as different reasons. With this project, I create a visual archive of mixed media (collage, photography, print), that is rooting from a personal narrative, yet has political and philosophical collective reflections within many minority groups and first generation migrants.
